Sales Director - Food Safety
Job Description
The Director of Sales, Food Safety at Procurant is a senior individual contributor role responsible for driving new business growth across North America. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this position owns the full sales cycle for Procurant Food Safety — our compliance and workflow solution for retail grocery and foodservice operators — and reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in food safety software sales and a track record of displacing incumbent solutions at grocery chains, foodservice operators and perishables distributors.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle for Procurant Food Safety — from prospecting and discovery through demo, proposal, negotiation and close.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline of net-new opportunities within grocery retail, foodservice, and perishables distribution across North America.
- Target and engage food safety, operations, and procurement decision-makers at regional and national grocery chains and foodservice operators.
- Position Procurant Food Safety against incumbent solutions.
- Partner with Business Development and Marketing on outbound campaigns, trade show presence and account-based strategies.
- Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting in Salesforce.com.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, feeding competitive intelligence and market insights back to Product and Marketing.
- Represent Procurant at key industry events.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least 2 years selling food safety, compliance, or operations technology into grocery retail or foodservice.
- Demonstrated success selling against or at a competitor in the food safety software space.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a hunter/new-logo sales role.
- Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals involving food safety, IT, operations and procurement.
- Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations — HACCP, FSMA, GAP, GMP — and the operational challenges facing fresh food retailers and foodservice operators.
- Based in the Atlanta, GA metro area; willingness to travel across North America as needed.
- BA/BS degree in business, marketing, food science or a related field.
